Iron Raven

Game one

Our first game

A fishing game on a cold northern coast, for one player or a crew of up to eight. Haul pots through a winter gale, chase the legends the old-timers swear are real, rebuild a harbor that has seen better days, and find out what happened to the skipper who never came home.

A fishing boat moored at a stone quay at dusk, with crab pots and fish tubs on the quay and painted houses climbing the hill behind
The harbor at dusk
A fishing boat leaving the harbor at dawn, the lighthouse and the houses behind it in low sun
Heading out at dawn
A small fishing boat climbing a big swell under a stormy sky, a gannet diving
A rising sea
Gloved hands guiding a dripping crab pot full of king crabs over the rail
The haul
A deck at night in a winter gale, floodlit, the rails crusted with ice and a crewmate knocking it off with a mallet
A winter gale
Crew pushing crab pots over the side on a clear day, a line of buoys streaming out behind the boat
Pots over the side
A boat nosing through fog past a rusty bell buoy, seals hauled out on the rocks
Fog at the skerries
An enormous old octopus rising beside a small boat at night, a crew member holding up a flare
One of the legends
The harbor under the midnight sun, a new pier going up and bunting across the quay
Midsummer night
A green headland with a small white church, the ruins of a longhouse and racks of drying fish
An old coast
Northern lights over a frozen bay, a boat among floating ice and a cabin on the far shore
The far north
An old logbook open on a chart table beside an oil lamp, rain on the window and a boat at the quay outside
Her logbook

Mood pictures for the world we're building, not pictures from the game.
